Note: This is a genuine Audio Technica Pmount cartridge with an equally high quality aftermarket diamond elliptical .3x.7 needle installed which is also made in Japan from our trusted source, Jico.
Includes mount nut/screw, needle brush, installation screwdriver, slip-on needle protective cover.
Because this cartridge plugs directly into a rectangular socket at the end of the tonearm, it is known as a "T4P" Pmount cartridge. Other mounting characteristics are that it has no exposed wires in the back and is almost always found on a linear tracking turntable. Mounting Notes:
If your turntable is linear tracking it means the whole tonearm slides
several inches from side to side as opposed to the standard type usually designated
'straight' or 'S shaped' which pivots on a stationary 'hub' assembly at
the right rear corner of the turntable; this is called a "gimble"
mount. A linear tracking turntable will generally have buttons you must
operate to move the tonearm and will almost always
be found with a Pmount cartridge. This rule like many are made to be
broken. So there are several dozen turntables in existence that have a
standard "gimble" mount tonearm but require a Pmount/T4P cartridge. So,
the AT92 series of cartridges are generally found on linear tracking
turntables, Sometimes found on gimble mount tonearm, and can be forced
to fit almost any standard mount gimble mount tonearm with the included
bracket adaptor. Myth: Often people think they must have a brand of cartridge that matches their turntable brand. This is totally unecessary and often impossible to achieve these days. In fact, the vast majority of turntable manufacturers, had a third party cartridge manufacturer make the cartridge on their behalf. Also cartridge wiring connections usually go straight to your amplifier, receiver or computer thus allowing the turntable to make no direct electrical changes to the cartridge output signal. The replacement cartridge worked find on my very old SONY turntable. The Flagstaff music store I tried had nothing, but one of their salesmen said that if Turntable Needles didn't have it, no one would. It was a great reference, and service was very prompt. |

I purchased a phonograph needle from some dealer on e-bay and never received the item. The business that I dealt with was no help at all and could have cared less about delivery. I was surprised to think that someone would be in business and not insure that the customer was satisfied. Let me repeat. I did not receive the item.So then I came to this site. Ordering was a sinch. AND I received the item in a matter of a few days. No problemo.Wonderful sound. Im excited to here the old stuff again.

The product arrived, as described, and very quick. It was ordered in the late morning, and was shipped 3-4hrs. later. I cannot rate the cartridge itself as it was to be part of a gift. |

This works perfect for my Technics SL7. The sound is a bit crisp and not as warm as the P205CMK4 I had previously installed. Having not so much money to spend on something near to my old cartridge I think for it's price it's a pretty good deal. |
