The Precept PC110(Ivory colored needle PCN110E)
While all Precept cartridges are similar in essential construction, each model offers a unique stylus-cantilever combination. In the PC110, for instance, a special titanium bonded .4 x .7 elliptical diamond stylus is mounted on a thin-wall tubular cantilever. Despite its lo-mas construction, the assembly is highly rigid and flex-free.
The Precept PC220 (Gray colored needle PCN220XE)
Features a hollow aluminum tubular cantilever tapered for a minimum mass and excellent rigidity. A square hole at the end accepts the square-shank nude-mounted diamond stylus, assuring exact alignment of stylus facets to groove walls. Each is a natural diamond, oriented before grinding so that its groove contact will wear slowly and uniformly. A .2 x .7 elliptical stylus permits precise tracing without distortion.
The Precept PC440 (Black colored needle PCN440LC - OBSOLETE)
The PC440 cantilever is of exotic berylium, one of the lightest, most rigid of materials. The, stylus motion is transmitted to the magnets without flex, for lowest distortion possible. The stylus is a nude-mounted, square-shank diamond of exceptionally small cross-section. Despite its small side radius, the Shibata stylus extends vertically over more of the groove than comparable elliptical styli, thus providing unsurpassed tracing with modest pressure. As a result, top performance and extended record life are among the pluses offered by the PC440.
