The 609-DEL stock number is a Pickering DTL-2E. The 2E came in two interchangeable body styles which we call 'short' & 'tall'. Pictured above for reference only is a DTL-1E "short" body version. The 1E,2E,3S,4S are all interchangable among their respective cartridges. The difference is in the quality of the cut of the diamond tip. Currently, the DTL-2E is once again temorarily available! It comes sealed in a Pickering 'cube' which is marked DTL-2 on the box, but the needle itself is clearly DTL-2E. See 'Related Products' below for cheaper options.

• "DEL" =Diamond elliptical tip needle for use at 16, 33 or 45 speeds. NOT for 78 rpm speed.
• .75 - 1.25 grams tracking pressure.
• Original needle color is: WHITE Replaces: PICKERING DTL-2E (often mistyped as DLT-2E)

• NOTE: Because this needle is designed for use specifically with Pickering cartridges, it can be found in numerous brands of turntables. In some cases the cartridges for this needle may be original equipment supplied with a new turntable, but was more likely selected at time of sale to complete a turntable sold without a cartridge or later as an upgrade to the original cartridge supplied by the turntable manufacturer. This needle should be matched primarily to the cartridge type not necessarily the turntable.
