Super OM standing for "Super Optimum Match" lives up to its name. This cartridge is a hi-end solution in the Ortofon HiFi line.
A fantastic sounding cartridge. Comes equipped with the STY-40 stylus and slide-on protector to protect that stylus from the maid dusting your turntable. This cartridge is very well spoken of across various forums among serious users. It has received favorable comments even comparing it closely with the best of the Shure V 15 cartridges.
The super means it has recent refinements over the respected OM line. This includes 2 improvements to the lightweight moving magnet design of the OM line. The channel seperation has been widened and distortion reduced. Another design improvement has improved phase linearity and frequency range. These are improvements to the cartridges labeled "Super OM" as compared to a cartridge simply labeled "OM".
With an incredibly easy to replace needle body, this is a great choice for someone playing 78's or someone who has a cheap needle to play those garage sale LP's and a nice stylus for LP's already in their collection known to be in good shape.
So we confidently recommend this cartridge for:
versatility (easy of use)
the best performance
trusted leading quality brand name made in Denmark for decades, never China
finally we recommend using a cartridge protractor for this level of installation.
