Over the decades, vinyl does dry out! Keeping your vinyl sleeved with HDPE instead of paper will prolong the drying process. When records do dry, microscopic cracks develop contributing to surface noise.

  • ~1.5mil (0.0015748"/0.04mm) thick per layer where each complete sleeve has two layers (may be confusingly sold as a 3mil sleeve by competitors)

ProtectShield
These are a bit flimsy for my tastes but I can still use them. Insertion of the sleeve with the vinyl back into the record jacket resulted in the sleeve folding and catching. Decent but not great.

LP Sleeves
These work great for the price. Although the 1.5 mil thickness is thin, I don't see any need to purchase a thicker LP sleeve.
