Detail: This hyperelliptical upgrade stylus provides a well priced entry into the audiophile class for any application found below. We source the components from our trusted factory then we finish, tune and final test it here in USA. We use a special Shure brand test record and oscilloscope for both audio and visual testing of your stylus. So, you can be confident, as we are, that this will revitalize your cartridge with a serious modern upgrade not often available decades ago. Hyperelliptical needles have more efficient contact with the surface of the record than conical or standard elliptical tips from yesteryear. This needle is usually found on a plug-in "T4P" tonearm present to about 1.25grams of tracking pressure. Since the hyperelliptical tip fits the groove more accurately over a larger surface area, the same 1.25 grams factory preset tracking pressure presents a lower overall PSI to the groove which results in a greater lifespan for both the needle and your records while rewarding you with a noticeably clearer more well defined performance.
