Electro-Voice EV 5562 Type New Old Stock Legacy Phonograph Pickup

While EV sold this as a substitute for the Astatic high compliance series, the connector at the back of this cartridge is different than that found on the Astatic cartridges below it is meant to replace.  You will have the fun of dealing with installing a new connector that will require fine soldering skills which will convert your system from 4 wire to 3 wire where the L/R grounds are common to each other.  If you choose, for the $35 option, we will solder 3 tonearm wires about 13" long onto the back of the connector.  This will be the fine soldering skills end, then you will have to solder the opposite end of the wiring harness after you thread it through the tonearm.  Additionally it appears the mount may or may not be a snap either.  As of press time, 2026, there are two cartridges in stock, if needed the first buyer will get their choice of one of two mount bracket types *if needed*.
