This belt is of recent manufacture. Original legacy belts no longer exist. If they did, they'd be too old to sell in good conscience. As far as we can tell, even if the manufacturer name was stamped on the belt, all belts supplied with original turntables were outsourced to a belt specialist manufacturer, like ours are today. Our belts are made using state-of-the-art vulcanization chemistry, forming highly crosslinked polymetric structures which ensure long-term elastic stability even under the harshest conditions.

Prior to installation of your new belt, the belt path should be cleaned. Here in the repair shop, we would use common household rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) or a similar solution to clean the old, (often invisible) belt residue from the entire belt path, including the hub around the underside of the platter, so it doesn't contaminate the new belt. With the belt off, we would get the turntable into play condition and hold an alcohol soaked Q-tip on the side of the spinning belt motor pulley. It's amazing how much black contamination comes off from the old belt. See our belt installation page for related details.

Top Notch Customer Service!

Originally ordered the 20" belt for my Dual CS-506 turntable. It was much too tight. I contacted Turntable/Needles and returned the belt for the 21.4" which is a much better fit. Flat Belt Medium 21.4 inch

As a Riaa builder, I need also to be able to fine tune my customer's turntables. This belt was perfect as a replacement for an Ariston TT. Absolutely recommended.

TT belt for SME Model 15

Bought this medium 21.4" belt for my SME model 15 turntable. Even though SME is not listed, I guestimated it might work based on the dimensions of the original SME belt. The current SME replacements will not work for some reason (controls will not speed lock), and they are way off the dimensions of my older original belt. They are also unobtainium in the US which means expensive order from England. Turns out the belts for the Linn SP12 work fine on my SME, at a fraction of the replacement cost from SME. I love that turntableneedles publishes the actual belt dimensions (most sites do not) which allowed me to purchase a number of belts and test them. Plus, they sell US made product. Glad to have a reliable source for high quality belts for my SME. These guys are also superfast shipping.

Turntable Belt

When the turn table on my old, 80's era stereo system started playing erratically, I held out little hope that I'd be able to find the correct belt to fix it.
