Meets or exceeds OEM specs. This belt is of recent manufacture. Original legacy belts no longer exist. If they did, they'd be too old to sell in good conscience. As far as we can tell, even if the manufacturer name was stamped on the belt, all belts supplied with original turntables were outsourced to a belt specialist manufacturer, like ours are today. Our belts are made using state-of-the-art vulcanization chemistry, forming highly crosslinked polymetric structures which ensure long-term elastic stability even under the harshest conditions.

  • Prior to installation of your new belt, the belt path should be cleaned. Here in the repair shop we would use common household rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) or a similar solution to clean the old, (often invisible) belt residue from the entire belt path, including the hub around the underside of the platter, so it doesn't contaminate the new belt. With the belt off, we would get the turntable into play condition and hold an alcohol soaked Q-tip on the side of the spinning belt motor pulley. It's amazing how much black contamination comes off from the old belt. See our belt installation page for related details.

      A 33 year old turntable revived
      My friends have a Kenwood KD-2055 that had been sitting in their basement for many years. This belt brought it back to life. Installment was easy.

      Been looking for the right belt for some time for my 25 year old B&O turntable. This one is doing the job just fine. Reasonable price considering my local repair shop was asking $50 for the replacement.(work included) Still $20 is not cheap for a piece of rubber considering standard sizes are often to be found for a couple of bucks... Anyways I hope it lasts as long as my previous one.

      Turntable belt replacement
      I own a mid 1980's Sanyo TP 1010 turntable all original.Contacted Turntable Needles to see if I could replace the belt which had stretched quite a lot.There was no part no. on belt but I used their method of measuring for a new belt using a piece of string on underside of platter.They sent me a Flat Belt,Medium 27.3 Inch which fits perfectly.Thank you so much.

      Dual CS 5000
      I have a 1987 model Dual CS 5000 finding a belt for this model is borderline impossible and nobody for some reason even experts will disclose what belt you actually need for this model. This turntable hyper sensitive because of electronic speed control so a proper belt is a must, I have bought belts claimed to be the proper one for my model 25" but much too tight and needle would never drop or had to slow down plater manually with my finger. Anyway, finally a belt that WORKS and does what it is supposed to do at a fair price. Nice to deal with an honest retailer who knows what they sell !

      I used this belt on a Kenwood KD-12RB, but because the belt was a hair over 5mm, I had to trim it to approximately 4mm, so it would match the original belt. The belt as received would roll up over the edge of the belt pulley and come off. Once it was trimmed to 4mm wide, as the original, it would stay on the pulley and worked very well. I have ordered many belts and stylus from Turntable Needles and have always been pleased with their service.
