Hooray for places like this
As I was rebuilding my AV setup (which has a wide variety of technology from present-day to stuff from waaay back), I tested a tape deck I hadn't used in years. It didn't seem to function properly. Opening it up to see what might be wrong, I discovered that the drive belt had transmogrified into some organic goo wrapped around the playback motor (yuck).
Unfortunately, this meant I could not determine the dimensions of the belt, and the service manual was useless. Luckily, I found this web site, and was able to look up the model of the deck, and discovered not only what the dimensions were, but they sold it as well!
Yeah, maybe it's a bit pricey compared to other places (if there ARE any other places, that is), but who else has a good part lookup page, and actually stocks replacement parts for stuff that's over 40 years old??
Thanks, guys, I'm glad I found you--the new drive belt works great!
