Flat Belt, Medium 9.9"

Meets or exceeds OEM specs. Found in many types of equipment.

This belt is of recent manufacture. Original legacy belts no longer exist. If they did, they'd be too old to sell in good conscience. As far as we can tell, even if the manufacturer name was stamped on the belt, all belts supplied with original turntables were outsourced to a belt specialist manufacturer, like ours are today. Our belts are made using state-of-the-art vulcanization chemistry, forming highly crosslinked polymetric structures which ensure long-term elastic stability even under the harshest conditions.

Prior to installation of your new belt, the belt path should be cleaned. Here in the repair shop we would use common household rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) or a similar solution to clean the old, (often invisible) belt residue from the entire belt path, including the hub around the underside of the platter, so it doesn't contaminate the new belt. With the belt off, we would get the turntable into play condition and hold an alcohol soaked Q-tip on the side of the spinning belt motor pulley. It's amazing how much black contamination comes off from the old belt. See our belt installation page for related details.

Flat Belt Medium 9.9 in. for Modular Component System

Re: Modular Component System 3551 Cassette Deck was revitalized by replacing the belt with a Flat Belt Medium 9.9 inches. The original belt disintegrated, was scraped off. Replacing the belt is a bit of a challenge, but now the cassette deck is working perfectly in converting my old cassettes to the computer, then to DVD's. The service was efficient & so far the product is "thumbs up' for this vintage cassette deck.

FBM9.9 Flat Belt, Medium 9.9 Inch for JVC KD-D20

This belt paired with the SBS8.0 Square Belt, Small 8.0 Inch allows replacement of the two factory belts in the KD-D20. Belt is a perfect replacement for the Capstan belt and only requires the removal of 4 screws on the back of the drive mechanism to install.

FBM9.9 Flat Belt Medium for Sansui D-77R

The Sansui D-770R belt size seemed right, so I ordered it for my Sansui Cassett D-77R...FYI it fit perfectly, you may want to add D-77R to your list with FBM9.9 Capstan belt. Unfortunately, the drive belt didn't fix the problem with my cassett deck...and, when I bought a used D-77R on eBay, it also turned out to not work (no sound, too fast play speed, no reverse). So, I'm back to square one with 2 non-working units. I was pleased with the fast delivery and good quality of your belt though.

FBM9.9 Flat Belt Medium for JVC KD-D3

Works fine in a JVC KD-D3 for capstan replacement. Width is good and length is just enough, should not choose shorter.

Nakamichi CR-3A belt

This was the belt recommended for a Nakamichi CR-3A. It fits fine and the width looks about the same as the bits stuck on the flywheels from the original belt. The frequency was quite steady when setting the speed. There are multiple factors, but I'd say this is a good belt. I'm pleased it's a synthetic belt, so it probably won't turn to goo like the original.

Tape deck

These parts enabled us to revive an old cassette tape deck. Over the years the belts deteriorated and now the machine is working like new again and we can listen and enjoy our old cassette tapes.

I have been hunting for replacement belts for my (old) JVC Cassette deck and stumbled across "TurnTableNeedles" A quick search found the belts that I needed and the check out process was quick, easy and painless. Great pricing and the free shipping on small items was very welcome, considering I am half a planet away ! UPS was surprisingly fast and the belts arrived well packed and intact.
