Turntable Cartridge Mounting Hardware Kit - Long Screw

Purpose:

Primarily designed for standard Â½" mount cartridge/headshell combos that use a cartridge such as some legacy Empire or Shure cartridges that need screws that are longer than what is necessary for most setups. See our standard length set below that is suitable for most applications.

Features/Specs:

  • Manufactured to tight American standards. (not metric)
  • Two 3-48 Lightweight Aluminum 5/64" Socket Cap Screws 0.738 inches (18.75mm) long. (Made in USA)
  • (Made in USA) Brass/Zinc HEX Nuts are narrow profile 5/32" (4mm) to fit the tightest cartridges bodies.
Many kits offered elsewhere have hex nuts that are 3/16" on the flats and so won't fit tight spec cartridges such as the AT3400/AT95e series. Our 5/32" nuts are very rare and hard to find.
  • Four teflon Washers to protect your headshell and cartrdige from marring. (Made in China)
  • 5/64" Short Arm Genuine Allen Hex Wrench (Made in USA)
  • Nuts arrive threaded on screws to ensure correct fit. Others just toss nuts/screws in a baggie and trust they will fit upon arrival.
  • Can be installed up or down with nut on top of cartridge or under cartridge bracket.
  • Commonly used for some vintage Shure and Empire cartridges and more.
  • NON-magnetic metals used throughout. Always good but especially important for the larger magnet fields of rarer moving coil (MC) cartridges.

I used these longer screws to mount a Shure M91ed to a Dual 1019 sled with a shim. They worked perfectly.

Replacement Screws
This is an amazing screw set. I needed new mounting screws for my 1979 Shure M95ED cartridge, but couldn't find any that were long enough & non-magnetic. I mounted the cartridge on the original head shell of my Pioneer PL-514 turntable, but with the screws were a little on the long side, so I used 3 plastic washers to bring the screws up so they're not hitting the edge of the record when playing. I remember the original screws that came with the M95ED had the same issue & had to use the supplied metal washers to do the same thing as I did with this screw set. Really happy to have found these screws for my fave cartridge that brings out the best in my 1979 PL-514 turntable.

Perfect long screws for uncommon situations
These screws are especially great for some Shure cartridges of the 1970s era or applications where the cartridge mounting (such as spacers) results in needing longer screws. The Allen head design is also easier to use than a slotted screw with a flat blade screw driver.

Empire 298 pearl cartridge
Bought this kit to install a pearl cartridge on my Empire 298. Screws were too long but was able to easily shorten them with a pair of wire cutters. And it worked perfectly.

Worked perfectly
These head shell screws worked perfectly. They allowed me to attach my aluminum cover "The Cap" to my Denon D103 cartridge and use my heavier tone arm finger guide. They came with everything needed nylon washers and bolts.

Perfect
This screw set was exactly what I was looking for to mount a vintage Shure M95ED cartridge to an equally vintage and most beloved Dual 704 turntable. An absolute perfect fit. Not metric, very hard to find.
