NOTE: Because this needle is designed for use specifically with SHURE cartridges, it can be found in numerous brands of turntables. In some cases the cartridges for this needle may be original equipment supplied with a new turntable, but was also likely to have been selected at time of sale to complete a turntable sold without a cartridge or later as an upgrade to the original cartridge supplied by the turntable manufacturer. This needle should be matched primarily to the SHURE cartridge type not necessarily the turntable.

BUYER BEWARE! We are noticing "cheap" Swiss versions of this needle around the internet from 2nd tier vendors who's regular practice is to copy (steal) our copyrighted descriptions. We are the original data transcriptors that so many have copy n pasted. The Swiss make an entry level elliptical (0.4 x 0.7 mil, unpolished tip) that along with other build aspects as well, does not live up to the expectations of what Shure cartridge owners remember. An unpolished diamond tip will have an orange peel appearance under 200x magnification with 360° lighting. Eventually an unpolished tip does become polished......at your expense, as it is played on your irreplaceable vinyl.

Worked like a charm

Used this to replace what seemed to be an original stylus that was on a Dual 1229. Needless to say, the difference in sound was unbelievable. Shipped quickly, packaged nicely, no complaints at all.

Excellent Replacement Needle

I wanted to just replace the original Shure stylus. Factory M555E is up to par with M97xE.More character–say one lump of sugar,more dynamic with slightly less detail.Like an amp running in pentode opposed to triode.Some aspects are sacrificed,others gained.Change keeps interest in listening to systems we have created.Maybe a different brand of tubes,a new record!For some a magical golden line fuse,mystical dots glued to the wall will dramatically improve soundstage?Great tracking,fairly accurate,smooth,non-fatiguing.Brent Christman,Los Alamos NM

Good needle

This needle was a perfect fit for my cartridge even though the cartridge is no longer manufactured The needle performs very well.

V PLEASANT STYLUS

I got this for an existing cartridge and by now have put some milage on it xfering much of my vinil to hard drive. It is working well and the cartridge alignment advice & protractor helped too.

Stylus Purchase for Shure M44E

Reasonably priced and timely arrival, but did not fit well into my vintage Shure M44E cartridge. Highs were improved, but lows "rattled" significantly. There are also significant differences between the shape of the mounting at the front of the original stylus (Shure 6X) and the one sent to me. I am not surprised by this development, will return, and will shop with Turntables again!
