N91ed Type Hyperelliptical upgrade stylus for Shure

Replaces: SHURE N91ED, N91EJ, N91HE Shure needles
Used In: SHURE M91ED, M91EJ, M91HE Shure cartridges as an upgrade,
Original needle color is usually: BLACK
NOTE: Because this needle is designed for use specifically with SHURE cartridges, it can be found in numerous brands of turntables. In some cases the cartridges for this needle may be original equipment supplied with a new turntable, but was also likely to have been selected at time of sale to complete a turntable sold without a cartridge or later as an upgrade to the original cartridge supplied by the turntable manufacturer. This needle should be matched primarily to the SHURE cartridge type not necessarily the turntable.

JICO Hyper Elliptical Stylus for Shure M91 Series Carts.

Recently I tried out an older Shure M91ED cartridge equipped with a JICO Hyper Elliptical Stylus for Shure M91 Series carts (procured for about $85, NOT the higher priced Super Analog Stylus). Great sound, compared it with an Ortofon 2M Blue. Cannot tell a difference between the 2M blue and this combination. The Shure+JICO does track a bit lighter than the 2M blue. Great deal, unit arrived earlier than expected.

N91ED Replacement Stylus

Recently, I purchased the 761-DHE replacement for a Shure N91ED. Delivery was fast and I even received a call to confirm the shipping address. The stylus arrived well packaged. Once installed and the tone arm rebalanced, the sound difference was noticeable. There was a clarity to the sound that I hadn't heard in awhile. It's a pleasure to play vinyl once again. Give this item a try if you're looking for an N91ED stylus.

I've had everything from an original .2 X .7 Hi-Track, to a JICO SAS, to most of the various cheap knock-offs installed on my M91ED. My new Hyperelliptical is just broken in and currently running at 1.5 grams on my ELAC 10H. Sounds the most like the original Hi-Track. Not as open or detailed as the SAS but certainly no slouch. MUCH MUCH better than the .3 X .7 and .4 X .7 knock-offs. Well worth it for under $90.

Jico HE for Shure M91

Happy with everything about this stylus except it arrived with a cantilever slightly skewed to the left.It is off center enough, that it was immediately noticeable. It sounds real nice but just kinda leaves that insecure feeling in the back of you mind. Also was disappointed that even on a $86 stylus, I had to pay for insurance to be sure that the needle would arrive. This is a policy that needs to be modified for more expensive purchases.

N91ed Replacement Stylus

Stylus works perfect and I am very pleased with the sound. Great job, Turntable Needles, this is the second stylus I have bought from you with the first one for a Shure V 15 cartridge that I had been unable to find for years. Turntable Needles not only had it but it was in my hands within a week. You guys are the best. Keep up the good work.

Vinyl Fan

I really like this stylus. Very smooth, accurate highs. Nice mids and solid bass. Big upgrade from elliptical. Will buy another for my other M91ED.
