The world's first MP type monaural cartridge

The appeal of mono is being reevaluated, and classic albums from the past are being reissued one after another.
In order to maximize the power of the sound and sound image expression of mono records, we recommend listening to them with a cartridge designed specifically for mono playback.

Most monaural cartridges currently on the market are equipped with 0.6 to 0.7 mil spherical stylus tips to match modern record cutting.
The MP-MONO comes standard with a 0.4 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus tip, and was developed to bring out the contours and realism of the sound of monaural records, achieving high-resolution monaural playback.

A 0.5 x 1.0 mil elliptical upgrade replacement needle is also available as a stylus tip that can reproduce a powerful sound with a thick mid-low range. In the days when mono records were commonplace (mid-1940s to mid-1950s), 1mil spherical stylus tips were the mainstream for record playback. Nagaoka has paid particular attention to the sound field and atmosphere of that time, and have tuned it to provide a more authentic mono experience.
