Regarding above option "Mail in Old Same-type Cartridge | Get Rebuilt w/1yr Warr. | Brand Varies" ONLY: You will receive a cartridge that has been fully rebuilt (and/or passed detailed inspection/testing) by our senior consumer electronics technician. It is spendy because they are long since out of production due to demand of those before you. Our senior tech had to develop a repair bench jig to safely open the cartridge by drilling out the rivets. Next is full disassembly followed by removing all tarnish which has destroyed electrical conductivity over the decades. Applicable internal electrical connections will be soldered not resoldered as the factory thought soldering was not necessary at certain critical points. Then, the tech's secret sauce is applied to other internal contact points to restore and maintain electrical conductivity of all internal electrical junctions which is an upgrade over what the factory did, which was nothing so oxidation destroyed all contacts. Next rubber parts are chemically rejuvenated followed by testing and QC and lastly is final test and assembly by installing new rivets. Purchase of this pickup in N.O.S. condition for your RCA player from any other source will at some point result in cartridge failure; usually before your purchase meaning that N.O.S. cartridges of this type have by now almost all failed whether in use or not.
