Stylus 402-M208-165 78RPM only Version

This is a diamond needle is for 78rpm only.

Upgraded metal cantilever, rather than the plastic one.

We have had this custom ordered with a diamond (400-600hrs) tip to offer a quality alternative to the sapphire (100hrs) tips you will find elsewhere. See 'related products' below for 33/45 rpm needles.

NOSTALGIC SECTION:
Basically we have observed that 'all' new nostalgic or retro turntables now on the market use this needle. Please note that even though many of them are 3 speed, they only come with a needle for 33/45's (LP) you must use this needle, the 793-D3 for 78rpm only in order to not damage your 78rpm records with a modern nostalgic turntable.

CHINESE FACTORY DEFECTS ALERT:

Some nostalgic players shipped from China with a poorly made version of the cartridge for this needle that does not meet industry standards. While it does accept the originally supplied "402-M208-165" type needle from the same Chinese factory, it does not accept industry standard "793" series needles that have been around for decades. This issue is that correctly made 793 needles from us won't click into place well and tend to fall off. When you get a 793 series needle from us it will conform to industry standards and NOT fit these poorly designed versions of this cartridge. In this case the only course of action is to replace the entire cartridge with our new >>>P-188 cartridge<<< that we have carefully sourced to meet industry standards and be to able to accept 793 type needles for decades to come.

78 needle for Record To CD Turntable is Great

Finally I got the correct needle after years of using the needle that came with turntable I found out that there was separate needle for 78's. I must have been lucky that I couldn't tell any difference and hear any sign of wear using wrong needle. Now i can sort of hear difference and feel relieved that I didn't destroy my records with wrong needle. Price is fair and service exceptional. Thank you!

This one is very similar to 402-M208-165 LP Stylus for Nostalgic Record Players - Needle 793-D7M, but is strictly for old 78RPM records. Check that part number for my review; it applies to this one, too.

a vast upgrade to the plastic needle most suitcase model record players come with. Also adds needed weight to tonearm. Well worth the 20 bucks.

Perfect Replacement

Perfect replacement stylus for my Crosley turntable. I only use this for my 78 collection, and the sound reproduction is wonderful. I feel confident that no damage is being done.

Needle 793-D3M

The stylus that comes with my Victrola does not come with a 78 speed. Si I purchased this for when I switch over to play the classical records I have. Have not done so yet, but at least I have the diamond stylus for it now. Thanks.
