Specs

402-M208-165, ICT05RS, Crosley NP6 NP1 type Diamond needle.

Currently shipping GREY version.

NOTE: This version of the needle has a diamond tip, which is 4-7 times longer lasting than a sapphire tip. But the plastic shaft is not quite as able to handle abuse when compared to our 793-D7M needle (see related products below) which has an alloy tube shaft.

NOTE: we only sell diamond tipped 793 type needles. Many places sell sapphire tips that last only 80-100hrs. You can be assured that if their product page does not mention anything about the tip, then it is sapphire. Diamonds average 400-600hrs. The original needle that comes with the player is sapphire as well as original replacements in every case we have seen.

NOSTALGIC SECTION:
Basically we have observed that 'all' new nostalgic or retro turntables now on the market use this needle. Please note that even though many of them are 3 speed, they only come with a needle for 33/45's (LP) you must use our 793-D3 needle for 78rpm only in order to not damage your 78rpm records with a modern nostalgic turntable.

CHINESE FACTORY DEFECTS ALERT:

Some nostalgic players shipped from China with a poorly made version of the cartridge for this needle that does not meet industry standards. While it does accept the originally supplied "402-M208-165" type needle from the same Chinese factory, it does not accept industry standard "793" series needles that have been around for decades. This issue is that correctly made 793 needles from us won't click into place well and tend to fall off. When you get a 793 series needle from us it will conform to industry standards and NOT fit these poorly designed versions of this cartridge. In this case the only course of action is to replace the entire cartridge with our new >>>P-188 cartridge<<< that we have carefully sourced to meet industry standards and be able to accept 793 type needles for decades to come.

I own a secondhand Excalibur RD54 record player, and after a month of use it came time to replace the needle. I am a first-time record player owner, and I came to this website and received nothing short of what I needed. The shipping was great and the needle fit perfectly!

turntable needle for nostalgic turntable

Old Magnavox Works Again

Had an old Magnavox AM/FM/Dual cassette and turntable system (FA 9410) and the replacement needle fit perfectly and we can now listen to our old records again.

Solid replacement needle for those nostalgic style turntables

Got this needle to replace the one on my Polyconcepts/Philco nostalgic style turntable and it works perfectly. Sound quality didn't really improve all that much since the cartridge and built-in speakers are just ok, but the most important part is that it works.

I collect a lot of old jazz/blues/big band, and so I have a ton of LPs. By accident, I touched one of your needles a little too vigorously, and now I have a lot of trouble with the sound. Needle for Yorx Stero

I replaced my old needle with this new one and...... it would'nt stay on in the front. Measured up the size on the out side and it was exactly the same size. On the in side it was slightly to big at the tip, the inside back of the needle fit perfect. I ended up putting on my old needle! I may be able to figure out a way to stay on, I hope!

Great resource on line for a turntable's needle

It was exactly what I was looking for; delivery was fast and everything corresponded to the product’s description. I used the needle for my HYPE HY-2004-BCT Briefcase USB Turntable/Vinyl Archiver. The needle for this model cannot be found in the Montreal area, so it was great to find this website. Two thumbs up!

Exactly what I needed

I wasn't sure what kind of needle to get, as I got my turntable from Goodwill with no paperwork. I have a Realistic "Belt Drive Automatic Turn Table System", and only got close to finding the needle model (it didn't come with one) by referring to the code on the back of the tape deck. I thought that was somewhat strange, but am stoked to report that this needle works like a charm-it shipped super fast and was less expensive than any site I could find elsewhere. definitely recommended.
