I was having a rough time aligning my phono cartridge. I have 3 protractors & was constantly fiddling around with the cart alignment as I was getting inner groove distortion & other non conformances. I have a non Technics table (I think this gage is a clone of the Technics overhang gage) but the overhang is 52MM just like the Technics. Suffice it to say it took less than 10 minutes to align the cart with this gage and the TT sounds great. I should have just gotten this gage to start with.

I'M SURPRISED THAT A LOT MORE QUALITY TURNTABLES AREN'T SUPPLIED WITH THE "S" TONEARMS THAT USE THIS TOOL SINCE IT WOULD MAKE CARTRIDGE ALIGNMENT VERY SIMPLE FOR MANY.

Well have been looking a long time for a Cartridge gauge for a good price and low and behold finely found it. I am very surprised to have found one. Super simple to use, very accurate, I'm very happy I bought this. Makes setting cartridge up correctly a breeze.

Nothing fancy about it, but it is simple to use and worked perfectly. Nice to have a reasonably priced tool to be able to check this important adjustment.

Nothing wrong with the gauge other than it's not the correct length for my audio-technica at1240-usb turntable. I used a proper protractor after gauging with this head and it was not following the protractor arc at all. Went by the protractor alone to set up my carts and they track perfectly using the protractor for setup. So be warned this gauge is NOT for all S shaped tone arms.

This is a simple, effective and inexpensive tool to help with initial cartridge alignment in a headshell. I would still use a protractor to fine tune the cartridge, but most of the time your initial alignment would be pretty close to final.

Quick way to achieve 95% positioning.

This thing is perfect for my Fluance, I literally just used it to install and calibrate an mp-110 cartridge. Took out the protractor and it was sufficiently parallel on both the exterior as well as interior lines of the protractor. The overhang gauge is an older style for Technics, but it will work on any 49-52mm in length cartridge/ headshell for an S-shaped tonearm. A simple piece of plastic, but quite invaluable. Unfortunately I accidentally ordered TWO of them by mistake- one from this site, and another from.. another because I wasn't actually sure if they were identical pieces of plastic. Felt a bit silly, but if I do lose one, at least I have a backup I suppose.

This 52mm stylus gauge worked perfectly on my Technics SL1500.

Have not had an opportunity to use it yet.

Works perfectly and is much easier than using the overhang gauge which is on the deck of some turntables. And if you have an AR turntable it is almost essential.
