IMPORTANT REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
To remove worn needle, insert point of blade tool under back extension of needle shank and pry out. You might perhaps want to hold the chuck on the opposite side before you pull out the old needle.This is to try to avoid any internal movement of the chuck which is attached to the internal ceramic or crystal element which is VERY VERY VERY brittle by now.
To install new needle, put shank in chuck and press into place. You may wish to support the chuck on the opposite side (if your cartridge is so equipped), while pressing new needle into place. This is to try to avoid any internal movement of the chuck which is attached to the internal ceramic or crystal element which is VERY VERY VERY brittle by now. If the shank of the needle is too hard to insert into the chuck, perhaps you can use some 400+ grit sandpaper on the shank.
