NOTE: Because this needle is designed for use specifically with SHURE cartridges, it can be found in numerous brands of turntables. In some cases the cartridges for this needle may be original equipment supplied with a new turntable, but was also likely to have been selected at time of sale to complete a turntable sold without a cartridge or later as an upgrade to the original cartridge supplied by the turntable manufacturer. This needle should be matched primarily to the SHURE cartridge type not necessarily the turntable.

This replacement stylus works as well as the original Shure. I would buy another when this one wears out.

The Best replacement for the Shure V15 Type V I have found

It was a sad day when Shure announced the demise of the V15 cartridge, but even sadder when they decided not to make replacement stylii for them. Now, with the 773-DHE, new life can be brought to the cartridge. In fact, even better life with the advancements in sculpting the stylus itself. Before I end up sounding too much like a commercial, let me say that I replaced the stylus and it sounds great. Every bit as clear and so much more affordable (especially if you see what people are charging on eBay for them). An excellent choice.

Excellent replacement Stylus for my Shure V15 Type V cartridge

My V15 Type V had an original Micro-ridge stylus, but I went through two of them due to the extremely fragile cantilevers and high end was overly bright for my liking. This 773-DHE IS A hyper elliptical stylus with a sturdier cantilever and as it turns out it has the most pleasingly smooth frequency response from the lowest lowers to the highest highs. This stylus really makes my Shure V15 Type V sound better then ever. If you're looking for a replacement for the V15 Type V this is definitely the one to get!

Great replacement! Just as good as the original.

My Shure V15 Type 5 MR came back to life with this hyperelliptical stylus. Sounds great and alive....even better than I remember it with the original stylus. Grade = A. Also, thanks to Steve, he's a great help. I'm now a big fan of TurntableNeedles.com. I hooked up a Dual CS 5000 to the Shure MR to a Schitt Mani pre-amplifier and this to KEF LS50 Wireless....sounds great!

My original VN5HE was broken back in 1987 so I don't have any immediate memory of the sound to compare it to the Jico. This stylus sounds very detailed after a couple of albums are played. I used virgin 180g vinyle to test it and it's very good! To bad they went out of stock as I would like another for backup.

good replacement

My original V-15 V stylus literally "evaporated" after about 15 years in storage. I re-activated my Turntable/Tonearm this year after its 15 year "hibernation". I also upgraded the phono-pramp. I now can honestly say that many of my LP's (from the 70's and early 80's) sound better than most CD's. Caught the Vinyl bug.

VN5E Stylus for Shure V15 Type V

This cartridge was used as a reference in almost all mastering rooms in Los Angeles and NYC from about 1982 to 1988. I have about 600 records but have not been playing them much in the past 20 years. I realized I needed a new stylus so purchase 2 of these about 1 month ago. What a difference!! No I listen to vinyl almost everyday. I'm really happy with this purchase!

Quality Stylus for Shure

Since Shure no longer makes turntable cartridges, I just replaced my worn stylus. The VN5HE is a direct match for my old stylus and fit perfectly. I was also extremely please with the service I received from TurntableNeedles.com.

Wow, what a stylus!

This replacement stylus resurrected my V15 V that I acquired many years ago in the purchase of a vintage Kenwood turntable, unfortunately the original stylus was missing. I installed the V15 V with the new Bliss stylus in my vintage Sony PS-X7 turntable and all I can say wow, the Sony never sounded so good! Previously I was running a V15 III with several aftermarket styluses but neither ever sounded as good as the original Shure VN35E, even though it was worn. The Shure V15 V seems like it was made for the PS-X7's low mass carbon fiber tonearm....one of the most musical cartridges I ever owned. Thank you turntableneeedles.com for helping me get this lost jewel back on the road!
