Bliss Brand Shibata Stylus for the Shure V15 Type V Line of Cartridges

SHIBATA diamond needle for entire Shure VN5 series found on the Shure V15 type V series of cartridges. The shibata-shapped tip was not originally offered by Shure at the time but has now, being invented in the 1970s as the first high end cut capable of quadraphonic operation, proved to be the longest marketed high end cut ever. A shibata tip is so smooth in its performance that it's preferred by many audiophiles even over the more complex Shure Microridge design; now marketed under other names.

Shibata replacement for:

Also upgrades the obsolete Shure VN5E and VN5HE needles.

Original needle color is usually: BLACK/SILVER/MAROON

Our man-made bonded round shank diamond on a telescoping hardened aluminum is key to providing a great cost vs performance benefit. especially necessary due to the extra expense incurred from the suspension brush mechanism. This shibata tipped needle will transform any compatible cartridge with a lesser-equipped stylus into a high end playback solution capable of exceptionally faithful, clear and true sound reproduction.

For any type of quadraphonic (4-channel) record playback, be it of the discrete (CD-4) or matrix (SQ) variety, in addition to this quality shibata stylus, the following components of a complete quad system must all be present and in working order:

A Cartridge sold originally as being capable of 4-channel playback.
A Record originally pressed with decodable information for channels 3 and 4 that is still in good condition. A record that is too worn will lose it's ability to provide the high carrier frequency needed for the amp to decode the rear channels even though you may still be able to hear the two primary left and right channels just fine. The record jacket will clearly advertise (brag) about this capability if it is present.
A receiver or amplifier with the needed circuitry which is still functional. Capacitors and edge-connector connections often fail in these circuits leaving them no longer capable of decoding the rear channels 3 and 4.
and of course 4 speakers hooked up correctly and situated in the 4 corners of a standard listening room.

• NOTE: Because this needle is designed for use specifically with SHURE cartridges, it can be found in numerous brands of turntables. In some cases the cartridges for this needle may be original equipment supplied with a new turntable, but was also likely to have been selected at time of sale to complete a turntable sold without a cartridge or later as an upgrade to the original cartridge supplied by the turntable manufacturer. This needle should be matched primarily to the SHURE cartridge type not necessarily the turntable.

Shure type v replacement stylus

Excellent needle. Would purchase again. Worth the few extra dollars to get the best replacement for my old cartridge. Tech/ sales folks at TN were fantastic to work with.

Love It!

I got this for my Shure V15RS cartridge. With this stylus the cartridge sounds like new and the detail in the music is awesome.

Best bang for the buck

This stylus is a bargain, the midrange and bass are back and the vocals clear. I think it is better than the SAS stylus in over all sound. The SAS was more lean and to the high end. The Sure sounds brand new !

V15v stylus

Stylus arrived quickly and was packaged securely. Upon installing and again playing records . I am totally satisfied to be able to hear this wonderful Shure cartridge again. Everything is right where it belongs. Thank you turntablesneedles. I recommend you give them a try. You won’t regret it.
