Shure VN5xMR Style Bliss Shibata Stylus for V15Vx series cartridges

SHIBATA bonded diamond needle for the Shure VN5xMR for the Shure V15 type V15VxMR cartridge. Ordering this part will net you a true Japanese shibata "VN5xMR" . It is a true shibata tip not originally offered by Shure at the time. Because the shibata tip is so well designed as a potentially quadraphonic solution with the right system*, and has stood the test of decades you can be confident, as we are, that this will do your prized Shure V15VxMR etc (see below) cartridge justice. This shibata tipped needle will transform any compatible cartridge with a lesser-equipped stylus into a high end playback solution capable of exceptionally faithful, clear and true sound reproduction.

Applications:

Radio-Shack-Realistic-OptimusV15RS aka V15 type RS
(Cat.-No.-42-2800)
SHUREM111E
SHUREM111HE
SHUREM97xE
SHUREME97E-(Encore)
SHUREME97HE-(Encore)
SHURERXT5
SHURERXT5
SHURERXT6
SHUREV15-PRO-S
SHUREV15RS-(Cat.-No.-42-2800)
SHUREV15VxMR
SHUREVST-III

NOTE: Because this needle is designed for use specifically with SHURE cartridges, it can be found in numerous brands of turntables. In some cases the cartridges for this needle may be original equipment supplied with a new turntable, but was also likely to have been selected at time of sale to complete a turntable sold without a cartridge or later as an upgrade to the original cartridge supplied by the turntable manufacturer. This needle should be matched primarily to the SHURE cartridge type not necessarily the turntable.

• stereo and mono ready - quadraphonic system not required to enjoy the near perfect sound reproduction that shibata tipped needles offer.
Shibata needles have maximum contact with the record groove, better than conical, elliptical and hyperelliptical tips.
For any type of quadraphonic (4-channel) record playback, be it of the discrete (CD-4) or matrix (SQ) variety, in addition to this quality shibata stylus, the following components of a complete quad system must all be present and in working order:

  1. A Cartridge sold originally as being capable of 4-channel playback.
  2. A Record originally pressed with decodable information for channels 3 and 4 that is still in good condition. A record that is too worn will lose it's ability to provide the high carrier frequency needed for the amp to decode the rear channels even though you may still be able to hear the two primary left and right channels just fine. The record jacket will clearly advertise about this capability if it is present.
  3. A receiver or amplifier with the needed circuitry which is still functional. Capacitors and edge-connector connections often fail in these circuits leaving them no longer capable of decoding the rear channels 3 and 4.
  4. and of course 4 speakers hooked up correctly and situated in the 4 corners of a standard listening room.
This stylus is designed for the V15VxMR and can also be a massive upgrade for the M97xE cartridge. Note however that the M97xE body is not quite the same (internally/electrically) as the V15VxMR body so this will not upgrade the M97xE to the exact same level as the V15VxMR cartridge mounted with the VN5xMR stylus was. It will, however be a very significant improvement.

Very niiiiiiiiiice
Always nice to get a new stylus. I’ve tried a few including an eliotical. But this one is really pretty great. Sounds soo good, not just clear but musical. I’m having a blast going through the collection to hear everything fresh again.

V15xmr shibata
At first I found this stylus very bright sounding in my v15 rs cartridge. I have volume controls on my tweeters and I had to turn them almost off. Then I popped it into my shureM97ex and it sounded better. At 15 hours the treble has decreased somewhat to a bearable level from the bliss stylus. The detail is excellent and overall sound is superb. Old records-1960’s-sound fresh.Surface noise is better muted than my grainy jico SAS. This stylus has a sound of its own.
