I got this stylus as an Xmas gift for my old Technic SL-QD33 turntable. I removed the old cartridge simply by removing the small screw on its side and unplugging the cartridge. After plugging in the new cartridge I used the old screw to secure it. I immediately noticed a dramatic improvement in sound quality over the old (factory) stylus (which to be fair has had hundreds of hours of use by now). I thought it might exaggerate the minor pops or hiss of an old record, but instead it made the sound very clean (my wife asked if I bought a new recording of an old favorite when she heard first it). So I could hear the improvement in fidelity immediately. It does seem to be more sensitive to static discharge when I change records so I try to ground myself on the turntable platform and that seems to help. I have not adjusted the arm weight from the factory setting or the tracking as so far so good. I'm a very happy customer.

I recently purchased a 40 year-old Technics SL-QL15 linear tracking turntable that came with an entry level AT cartridge and conical stylus. So, I immediately started shopping for a new T4P cartridge and stylus. After considerable research among the limited number of available P-mount cartridges and needles, I settled on this particular cartridge/stylus, and I'm so glad that I did! Thanks to the P-mount format, it took me about 5 minutes to swap cartridges. Due to some problems with sibilance on especially hot pressings (e.g., Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd), I slightly increased the VTF, from 1.25g to 1.3g, which took care of the sibilance issue. I cannot say enough good things about this cartridge/stylus. The sound stage and frequency response are exceptional. After pulling out the hundreds of LPs that have been sitting in my various garages for the past 40 years, I am back in Vinyl Heaven once again. Crank up the volume on a high quality stereo system and close your eyes, and with a well-recorded and well-mixed record, you will swear that you are at a live concert or, even better, in the studio with the band! I'm listening to "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk as I write this review. I bought this LP more than 40 years ago, which is also about the last time I played it. The new cartridge/stylus handles this highly dynamic synthesizer-heavy song effortlessly. You feel the bass notes as well as hear them, and the timbre of each instrument in the mid and high ranges are faithfully and accurately reproduced regardless of how much business is going on in the low end. Even with the most demanding recordings, there is no audible distortion. As other reviewers have mentioned, I am hearing nuances and background instruments that I've never heard before (on vinyl or lossless digital sources) in songs that I've listened to, literally, hundreds of times before! Even with only a couple of hours of play time on the new stylus, this cartridge/stylus sounds amazing. It effortlessly tracks and reproduces every nuance of even the most demanding recordings. Given the paucity of high quality P-mount cartridges and styli, I took a chance on this $300 cartridge/stylus, and I'm glad I did! I cannot recommend this cartridge/stylus highly enough if your turntable requires a T4P cartridge. Now, I don't feel like I am missing out on an audiophile-quality experience just because I am limited to P-mount cartridges!

Arthur C. Clarke told us that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." If this cartridge isn't an example of that then I don't know what is. I have LPs from the 60s and later, and 45s from the 50s and 60s. I haven't tried the 45s yet, but I can say with enormous pleasure that this linear contact cartridge, clearly pulling signal from groove wall areas that have never been touched before, makes my oldest LPs sound just damned near like new! Damage that is present is not cured or undetectable, but with the addition of pristine music signal the mix of signal to noise is such that except for the most severe damage, from back before I had a clue about what made a good turntable rig, the damage fades compared to the music signal. In most cases, if I just walk across the living room from the speakers, the LP could be taken as brand new. I have heard signal details that I have never heard before in a few sections where I trust my memory enough make the judgment. One in particular that I noticed was the presence of lip buzz on some brass instruments that I am absolutely certain never registered to my ear before in some sections that I have listened to so many times that I confident of the comparison. Thanks are definitely due to the TTN staff who helped usher me into the modern era to understand the significance of the newer stylus technologies. The last tech comment just before I purchased was that with the LC stylus I would likely hear significant improvement in the signal from my old LPs. Yeah. "Significant" doesn't begin to cover it. In short: WOW!
