A.T. made various versions of these needles over the years. Some said "UNIVERSAL", others said "AT15SS" or "audio-technica" or the visor/flip guard was simply blank. Our experienced technician has examined the tips under our Shure 200x microscope to ensure you are getting exactly what you expect. The ATN15 is a very basic "shibata" tip that some would call a linear contact. The ATN15ss has a much more complex " SUPER shibata" tip as AT called it, much more like a line contact/micro ridge or SAS type. As these were stored properly, the bearings all still have great compliance, as usual expect a 10-30 hour "break in" period before they "open up" to unlock their exceptional potential!
