These old crystal elements are pretty fragile. Very prone to failure due to humidity & vibration. We test them before they leave our shop. about 80% that we receive have already failed just sitting in the box. We guarantee them against DOA but as we cannot know moisture conditions where one will be used, we cannot warrantee them for any length of time. You must also take great care should you ever replace the needle. Any force use to replace a needle that strains the crystal element inside and it is toast.
