D20E Mk II Type BLISS™ Stylus for Ortofon cartridge VMS20E MkII

SPECIAL NOTE: Ortofon has released TWO version of this needle assembly over the decades. The BLISS copy has a rounded black plastic shaft that goes into the cartridge, like the legacy D20E MkII. Later, production through present production, the D20E MkII has a notch at the top and the bottom, we call this the H-hourglass design. This version allow the D20E MkII to be used in similar Ortorfon cartridges in the VMS family other than specifically the VMS20E and MkII cartridges.

Elliptical needles have more efficient contact with surface of the record than a conical tip. There is not a conical tip version of this needle.

• NOTE: Because this needle is designed for use specifically with Ortofon cartridges, it can be found in numerous brands of turntables. In some cases the cartridges for this needle may be original equipment supplied with a new turntable, but was more likely selected at time of sale to complete a turntable sold without a cartridge or later as an upgrade to the original cartridge supplied by the turntable manufacturer. This needle should be matched primarily to the cartridge type not necessarily the turntable.

Value and sound stage

This is the second stylus I have put into this cartdridge. The first was something that fit, and this came off back order and sounds much better!
