Shure N3D Type Needle by BLISS

The Shure N3D was the needle with the "fat" cantilever. The obsolete N21D is the needle with the thin cantilever.

Shure M8D & needle install literature here.

Replaces: Shure needle N3D N7D N8D (Direct replacement for N21D)

757-D3 78 RPM Stylus for the Shure M3D, M7D & M8 Cartridges

I searched every where for a 78 stylus for my Shure M7D cartridge. Turntable Needles was the only place in the country that had them. The quality is high & it tracks 78 records at just 4 grams. I'm very happy with the product & the service that Turntable Needles gives their customers.

"M7ed" .3 X .7 Elliptical

I've bought 3 of the .3 X .7 elliptical styli for my Shure M7-N21D cartridge over the past 10 years or so. Much more detail than the 0.7 mil spherical (although, that one's not bad, either). Highly recommended, reasonably priced upgrade for a great vintage cart that still outperforms many newer offerings.

Old school musicality

The NOS Shure N3D stylus with the Shure 3MD MM cartridge put many of todays setups to shame. Although this stylus and cartridge were created more than 50 years ago, they offer more than musical enjoyment than many of newer products. There is plenty of dynamic expression with weight and natural timbre. Not as transparent as some setups, but ever very musical.

757-D3 Shure M8D

So grateful for previous reviews. I had a Shure M8DM I wasn’t sure what to do with. I had bought THE cheapest stylus I could find for it. It took awhile but I learned your cart is only as good as the needle. Get the best one you can. Anyway, based on previous reviews I opted for the DE version. I cannot believe how this has completely woken up this cartridge on my Elac 50h. I’m listening to my old stereo records and the sound is really good. Jazz and stuff.. The clarity is really nice. Instruments sound great. Thanks.

N3D replacement stylus

This stylus is made for 78s, and they sound glorious with this stylus. A very hard to find item. Highly recommended.

Great replacement for M3D

I've run both the conical and the elliptical in an M3D using a Rekokut S220 tonearm. The conical was generally happy tracking between 3.25 and 4 grams with only the most difficult to track selections needing more than 3.5g. Enjoyable all around but most magical with speakers that are a little hot in the treble. Output is higher than average. Stylus fit securely in cartridge body. Elliptical brings some nice detail and more extended highs than the conical. Well worth it for a couple extra bucks. Output level is more typical. Stylus assembly had a bit of play in cartridge body. Tiny piece of thin tape on assembly "wings" was enough to get a secure fit. Tracking happily at less than 2.5g.
