ATN12XE, the JICO knock-off

Bought this to replace an original AT stylus. Just out of curiosity, compared them under the microscope. After cleaning, the AT was in better shape than I expected, but pretty worn. The JICO replacement had the same geometry and overall appearance. From an audio quality perspective, the two are nearly the same. Perhaps the JICO sounds a bit better (than the worn AT stylus) but if so it's quite subtle. I'm giving it a tentative 4 stars but the real test is going to be how it holds up over time.

AT Stylus/ LS400

Order was quick, got cart. used sounded fine but did'nt know stylus condition, got ATN12XE, for LS400 cart. went on Denon DP 300F turn table sound very nice. The people at Turntable Needles are very helpful. Thanks Lee

JICO brand rendition of the ATN12XE stylus

I bought this stylus to try out an AT-90E cartridge I acquired. After a few hours playing time it opened up, widening it's soundstage and bringing out detail I look for in recordings. It sounds competitive with the best of the other HE equipped Shure cartridges I have and I am really happy with how it sounds, especially considering it's price advantage over some other styli I have purchased. [...Not that I'm complaining... ;) ]

JICO replacement 201-DEX

Very nice stylus. Purchased to replace an AT12SA on a Technics SL-Q2 I'm restoring. Didn't want to buy a Shibata for the cartridge without confirming all was well. Nice sounding cartridge, does especially well on piano.

Great replacement stylus!

Considered purchasing the Shibata replacement for my AT12sa, but got this one instead. Really brings out the warmth of my vinyl without neglecting the detail. Highly recommended!

Audio Technica Stylus Replacement

The JILCO .3x.7 was a good choice and value as a replacement stylus for my AT96E cartridge.

ATN12XE stylus

When I first ordered this item, it was out of stock, so I selected the "ship automatically when item is in stock again option" and forgot about it. I was pleasantly surprised when an order confirmation came through within the next week - sooner than I expected. Installation was easy and I am happy to say that my vinyl sounds great with this new stylus. I'm no pro, but everything works A-Ok. I was recommended to turntableneedles.com by a few different friends and I also now recommend them for your needle needs.

Needle 201-DEX (Jico)

Diese 201-DEX ist ein sehr guter Ersatz und hat einen sehr guten ausgewogenen Klang mit dem System. Der Klang ist wie ein AT-412 OCC mit originaler Nadel. Um volle Abtastfähigkeit bei 315Hz und 50µm zu erreichen, braucht man eine Auflagekraft von 3.0 Gramm. Durch die hohe Auflagekraft und stärkeren einsinken der Nadel in den Tonabnehmer, kann der Nadelträger am Anfang einer LP aufsetzen. Vielen Dank für die trotzdem gute Qualität und schnelle Lieferung nach Deutschland, gerne wieder.

Needle is great

First, I ordered the wrong needle as I'm still figuring out the vinyl and record player world. Thankfully, turntable needles was great and quickly guided me through the return process. They sent me the correct needle based on the old one that I sent along with the return and refunded me the difference. Second, the needle works very well and I've been enjoying my dad's old records since. Will definitely shop with TTN again.

Great Replacement

This needle was an excellent replacement for me Audio Technica needle. The needle shipped quickly, was packaged appropriately so no potential damage could occur, and was easily installed. Very happy with this purchase and would definitely buy one again if I don't move up to a higher quality unit.
